US Rep. Pete Hoekstra Visits Michigan Sugar

BAY CITY, Mich. -- Michigan gubernatorial candidate and U.S. Representative Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich., was in the Great Lakes Bay region Friday.

Hoekstra is continuing his task to perform 100 different Michigan jobs, which brought him to Michigan Sugar in Bay County.

"I wanted to learn more about the sugar beet industry," said Hoekstra. "I wanted to learn more about sugar [and] I wanted to learn more about one of the key employers here in Bay City."

Hoekstra's doing the 100 jobs to stress the importance of economic development, job creation and the diverse services offered across the state.
